Arnold Air Society – David W Wallace SQ

Arnold_Air_Society
The Arnold Air Society is a professional, honorary, service organization advocating the support of aerospace power. The “service” aspect is perhaps the foremost in the mind of many members, because of the society’s continuing contributions to our campuses, our communities, and our corps–but it should always be remembered that our primary mission is to improve ourselves as future Air Force and Space Force officers.
Our main purpose, however, is to give back to our community. You may have seen us raising money at “Fill the Hats” around town. We hold many community service events throughout the year to help us accomplish our goal. We also hold a candlelight vigil for POW’s and MIA’s and a Veteran’s Dinner where we donate around $3000 yearly. We are a non-profit organization, and any money we raise throughout the year we donate to the VA.
To join AAS David W Wallace SQ, one must complete a candidacy semester. We hold candidate classes every semester and all cadets are given the opportunity to come and see what it takes to be an Arnie!

Blue Knights

Las Cruces’s Premier Color Guard

Blue KnightsDetachment 505 is proudly represented by the dedicated cadets who perform Color Guard duties as a member of the Blue Knights organization. If you have ever watched the colors posted at an event, or witnessed a flag detail pay respects to the Colors, then you have probably noticed the meticulous nature and synchronous movements of each member. If you want to be a part of a team who knows each others movements so well that not a single flaw can be detected and pay respects to the symbol of our nation, then the Blue Knights organization is for you.

The Blue Knights are well know in Las Cruces and its surrounding areas. They have rendered their services at weddings, funerals, and countless city events, as well as during the execution of AFROTC events. Blue knights training is a year long. During this training you will learn how to post the colors, fold the flag, raise and lower the flag, perform saber arches, retire the colors, and many other time honorable traditions. More information will be given during the first two weeks of school on how to join the Blue Knights.
